“Cold Hands, Warm Hearts”

I live in Syracuse, NY where the topic of the weather is never boring.   Currently we are experiencing bitterly cold temperatures.  Not quite as cold as my friend Michelle who lives in Northern Minnesota….brrrrr!!!…but very, very cold.  Schools are closed, the furnace runs double-time, and the snow crunches and squeaks  under the car wheels in a way that sets my teeth on edge.  But within all of this “Polar Vortex” frigidness I say, “Cold hands, warm hearts!”

It wasn’t so long ago that I thought,  “If only I had enough money to pay my bills easily with a little extra…I would be so happy.”  Thankfully that time has come, and I am happy.  I am extremely grateful and content, and I love my work that brings financial comfort to me and my son Hank.  I have to say, however, that I have never felt more deeply the importance of my connections with family and friends.  Even the warmth that I feel from a cashier’s smile, or another driver who waves me into a busy line of traffic, makes this cold bearable.

And I want to say to you who are reading this that you are truly a part of this feeling of warmth in my life.  The connecting with others that has occurred for me in my business and in social media has brought me a great deal of joy.  I want to thank you.  I feel very blessed to be in a line of work that rewards me not only financially but with the feeling that I am helping others.   And I love my daily Facebook interactions where I often feel a true sense of love and appreciation.

So during these cold cold days I wish you warmth of heart.  I pray that you stay open to all of the loving moments that occur within each day.  I hope that you take a moment to make someone smile and to receive one yourself.  For as Hugh Grant says in the beginning of one of my favorite movies, “Love actually is…all around.”
